Seniors named Hispanic Scholars

Charlotte Latin seniors Matthew Bredder and Jaclyn Burton have been named National Hispanic Scholars by The College Board’s National Hispanic Recognition Program.

Although the NHRP does not provide a financial award, being a scholar may give students an opportunity to hear from colleges that are interested in communicating with academically exceptional Hispanic/Latino students.

The College Board’s NHRP identifies outstanding Hispanic/Latino high school students and shares information about them with subscribing colleges and universities. In order to be eligible, students must be at least one-quarter Hispanic/Latino.

Each year, the NHRP identifies about 5,000 of the highest-scoring students from the approximately 235,000 Hispanic/Latino high school juniors who took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
