Charlotte Latin seniors Matthew Bredder and Jaclyn Burton have been named National Hispanic Scholars by The College Boards National Hispanic Recognition Program.
Although the NHRP does not provide a financial award, being a scholar may give students an opportunity to hear from colleges that are interested in communicating with academically exceptional Hispanic/Latino students.
The College Boards NHRP identifies outstanding Hispanic/Latino high school students and shares information about them with subscribing colleges and universities. In order to be eligible, students must be at least one-quarter Hispanic/Latino.
Each year, the NHRP identifies about 5,000 of the highest-scoring students from the approximately 235,000 Hispanic/Latino high school juniors who took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
