The winner: If you have plastic spring-loaded wood clamps, you can wind up long cords after use, put them inside the opening of the clamp and then attach the clamp ends in a convenient place until needed again. Ron Baltz, Tega Cay
Use child safety belt to secure purse on cart
I am the mom of two boys and carry around a HUGE purse that has all the things we might need, maybe even a cure for malaria, it’s so big. It gets heavy, so while I am shopping at any place with a cart, I rest it there to give my back a break. But I’ve always been nervous that someone would snatch my purse, so I use the child safety belt to strap it. Angie Haynie, Charlotte
Magic eraser beats tough bowl stains
Stubborn toilet bowl stains: Place a piece of a magic sponge (white magic eraser) into the bowl. Let set for a minimum of overnight. I had to repeat it for two days. It removed stains which were in my bowl when I moved into my house almost 20 years ago. Annie Turner, Charlotte
