Latin American Festival
For its 21st year, Celebracion!, the Lowcountrys celebration of Latin American culture, food, dance and music, will return to North Charlestons Wannamaker County Park from noon to 6 p.m. Admission is $10 at the gate; $5 for military and college students; free for 12 and younger. Brookgreens autumn festival
Outdoor, family-friendly activities at Brookgreen Gardens Harvest Home Weekend 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Oct. 13-14 include scarecrow building, pumpkin painting, hayrides, food and live music. (Nominal charge for some activities.) There are also demonstrations on how to make pottery, soap and sweetgrass baskets. Brookgreen Gardens is on U.S. 17, south of Myrtle Beach.
