$6,000 reward offered in violent robbery

Police are now offering a $6,000 reward for information about the suspects in the violent robbery of a west Charlotte car lot last month.

Around 9 a.m. on Sept. 8, two suspects shot out the glass door of the Auto Fare on Wilkinson Boulevard and then assaulted an employee, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

Then, the suspects moved that employee and several others to different rooms. The suspects, who carried pistols, demanded several items from the business before fleeing, police said.

The suspects wore masks, according to reports.

On Thursday, police announced that Auto Fare’s owner gave Charlotte-Mecklenburg Crime Stoppers a check for $5,000 to be used as a reward for anyone who gives information that leads to the suspects’ arrests. That amount, in addition to the $1,000 already offered by Crime Stoppers, brings the total reward to $6,000.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or visit http://charlottecrimestoppers.com.
