75 tickets given at Charlotte seat belt checks

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say they have issued 75 citations at three recent nighttime seat belt checkpoint operations in Charlotte.

The most recent was Thursday night in northeast Charlotte, and it accounted for more than half the seat belt tickets written out.

Police Sgt. David Sloan says 10 officers participated in the checkpoint from 8 to 10:10 p.m. Thursday on Milton Road at North Sharon Amity Road. He says police wrote out 38 citations for seat belt law violations.

Sept. 18 (9-11 p.m., Eastway Drive at Sugar Creek Road)
