Q&A: Carolina Panthers DE Greg Hardy

We ask 10 questions of Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy:

What’s your favorite movie?

Talladega Nights. Ricky Bobby, man. Gotta love it.

What’s your favorite TV show?

Sponge Bob Square Pants.

Really, Sponge Bob Square Pants?

Out the door, man.

What do you learn from watching Sponge Bob?

Anything you need to know, man. From seven to 70. How to be respectful, how to tie your shoes. Anything you need to know. Not to drink. Holidays. Friends. All types of stuff. I watch it every day.

If you invite friends over for dinner, what would you fix for them?

I’m a good cook. I do a seafood pasta with a white sauce, some corn and some homemade basil cheese bread.

How did you learn to cook?

My mom was a real good cook. She still cooks. Growing up, I was just eating and learning.

Do you have a favorite meal you ask her to cook?

She makes the best huge homemade ravioli, stuffed with cheese. My mom is vegetarian, so for most of my life I was vegetarian. I didn’t eat a lot of meat.

But I eat meat (now). I don’t eat too much red meat because I have asthma and it doesn’t do me good.

What’s the best vacation you’ve ever taken?

The best one ever would have to be the first one I took with my friends to Aspen, Colo., right out of college.

We didn’t do anything. We just hung around the hotel.

The hotels up there are crazy. They chauffeur you around in Benzs and Escalades, crazy type cars.

You eat food you’ve never seen before. Just hang out with pretty girls. It was January.

Why’d you pick Aspen?

You hear about it in all the movies, “Dumb and Dumber,” all types of movies.

We wanted to try it out.

Have you thought about what you want to do after football?

I’m a design guy so I’m leaning toward my own design business. A broad graphic design business.

I’m an artist, that’s just what I enjoy. I have a big portfolio especially from college. I don’t have a lot of time for it now but in the offseason I play around some, do some odd jobs.
