A graduate student from Charlotte has been reported missing in Boston.

Jonathan Dailey, 23, was last seen Tuesday night near Gardner Street in southwest Boston, according to Boston police. His roommate reported him missing Friday.

On Saturday, Boston police issued a missing person alert for Dailey, asking for the public’s help to find him.

Dailey, who lives in Boston’s Brighton neighborhood, is a student at Boston Architectural College, according to reports.

According to an online profile, Dailey grew up in Charlotte and attended Appalachian State University, where he studied architectural technology and design.

Friends and family created a Facebook page to share information about the search for Dailey.

His parents, who have traveled to Boston, wrote on the page that they’ve tried to call their son’s cellphone, but it has been turned off.

They said Dailey’s roommate found his phone charger, passport and driver’s license in their apartment, where there was no sign of forced entry.

“I was just up here staying with Jon for three days last week, and we had several great conversations,” wrote his father, Bruce Dailey. “I didn’t sense anything that gave me concern about his condition, or living and working up here.”

Police said Dailey is a white man, who is 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds. He has a thin build and dark hair.

He also has a tattoo described as a black stripe on his left upper arm, police said.

He was last seen wearing a button-down shirt and white shorts.

Anyone with information about Dailey’s whereabouts is asked to call detectives at 617-343-4256 or the Boston Police Department’s CrimeStoppers tip line at 1-800-494-TIPS.
