Your morning traffic update

Wrecks continue to be a big problem Tuesday morning across the Charlotte region.

It appears as if the biggest problems are on the south side, with wrecks on I-77 and South Tryon Street, and heavy congestion on I-77 northbound.

Here is a summary at 8:30 a.m.:

-- I-85 southbound ramp to I-77 southbound ... An earlier wreck is being cleared, but congestion delays remain.

-- I-77 northbound, south Charlotte ... Congestion is slowing traffic to 15 or 20 mph from Carowinds Boulevard to Tyvola Road.

-- I-77 northbound, south Charlotte ... A wreck on the right shoulder between Remount Road and the John Belk Freeway. Moderate to heavy delays.

-- South Tryon Street at Carowinds Boulevard ... A collision with injuries, and moderate delays, especially on South Tryon.

-- I-485 inner loop, south Mecklenburg ... Congestion slowing traffic to 15 or 20 mph from Providence Road to South Boulevard.

-- I-85 southbound, Cabarrus County ... Construction and congestion slowing traffic to 20 mph from N.C. 73 down to I-485.

-- I-77 southbound, Lake Norman area ... Congestion slowing traffic to 15 or 20 mph from just north of the lake down to I-485.
