Charlotte-Mecklenburg police released this surveillance photo of a robbery that happened Oct. 8 at a 7-Eleven store on Eastway Drive.

Police are looking for two men who robbed an east Charlotte convenience store Monday and then drove away in the store clerk’s vehicle.

The robbery happened early Monday at a 7-Eleven store on Eastway Drive near Central Avenue. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said the two suspects went into the store and grabbed the clerk, forcibly moving him into an office. Then, the suspects took money and merchandise and fled – in the clerk’s car.

The clerk was not hurt, and his vehicle was found later at a nearby apartment complex, police said.

On Tuesday, police released surveillance photos showing the accused robbers in the store.

Police said one suspect is a black man who is about 5-foot-10 with a medium build, sideburns, a goatee and short, curly hair. He wore a black hooded shirt and jeans.

The other suspect was described as a black man who is about 6 feet tall with a medium build. He wore a blue and white zip-up hooded shirt and jeans.

Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
