Man charged in 23 Concord burglaries

A Concord man who got out of prison 11 months ago was arrested Thursday and charged in connection with nearly two dozen burglaries in Cabarrus County, police say.

Anthony Alfonza Taylor, 52, faces 37 felony violations related to 23 breaking-and-entering cases, according to police. The burglaries started March 19, about four months after Taylor got out of a state prison, and continued through Sept. 15, according to authorities.

The cases were centered on Church Street, with seven incidents, and Wilkinson Court, with five.

Police say Taylor has an extensive criminal history for similar offenses. He is being held under $1 million bond.
