Stanley police arrested a Gastonia man accused of carrying a stun gun during a home invasion.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. Friday on Bennington Drive in Stanley. According to officials, Raymond Phillips entered the victim’s home carrying a stun gun and demanding money.

Officials say Phillips, 36, threatened the victim with the stun gun as he made off with $30, a cell phone and credit cards.

Police said they were able to make an arrest after the victim convinced Phillips to return the cell phone under the guise of more money. Police said the victim and suspect knew each other.

Investigators recovered items belonging to the victim. Phillips is charged with first-degree burglary and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
