CHINA GROVE -- The principal at South Rowan High School has been suspended, officials with the Rowan-Salisbury Schools say.
Don Knox, who has been principal at the school since 2008, was suspended with pay Oct. 5, authorities say. They will not discuss the reason for the action.
The Rowan County Sheriffs Office confirms it received a complaint against Knox on Sept. 12. A spokesman for the sheriffs office says an investigation into the complaints failed to indicate any wrong-doing by Knox.
The Salisbury Post is reporting that the complaint came from a student who graduated in June. According to the Post, the student complained that Knox assaulted him when he approached the principal in May with a question about commencement exercises.
