Harrisburg man dies in motorcycle wreck

CONCORD -- Police continue to investigate a single-vehicle motorcycle crash that killed a man Sunday evening.

Concord police say Jeffrey Mark Walter, 41, of Harrisburg, died when his 2009 Suzuki went off the road about 6 p.m. in the 3000 block of Roberta Road SW. That is near Fountainview Avenue.

Investigators say Walter was alone on the motorcycle, headed southwest, when he apparently lost control of the vehicle. The motorcycle slid off the road, and Walter died at the scene.

Police say the preliminary investigation indicates speed was a factor.
