LEED certification milestone

John Marshall Custom Homes Inc. has completed its third LEED-certified home in Mecklenburg County and the state. The home is at 518 Walnut St. in Davidson.

LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a program and designation administered by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Certification is based on energy and water efficiency, indoor air quality, sustainable building practices, environmentally friendly and local resources, native landscaping and other criteria.

Rodney Graham, owner of John Marshall Custom Homes, said he is proud to demonstrate a commitment to responsible building.

“LEED certification is our customer’s assurance that their home has been verified to meet exacting standards,” he said. Details on the LEED program: www.usgbc.org.
