Nadia Mansoor, an eighth-grader at Piedmont IB Middle whose family came to the United States from Pakistan two years ago to provide her with a better education is a recipient of the Jack Kent Cooke Foundations Young Scholars Award.
Nadia will get a full-time educational adviser, academic support and financial assistance through graduate school. She wants to attend Harvard and become a medical scientist.
Nadia and her family are working with her adviser to match her math and technology goals with educational offerings over the summer.
I have the opportunity to learn so much more here, Nadia says. We get to learn about other countries. That is something we didnt do in Pakistan.
