Nadia Mansoor

Nadia Mansoor, an eighth-grader at Piedmont IB Middle – whose family came to the United States from Pakistan two years ago to provide her with a better education – is a recipient of the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s Young Scholars Award.

Nadia will get a full-time educational adviser, academic support and financial assistance through graduate school. She wants to attend Harvard and become a medical scientist.

Nadia and her family are working with her adviser to match her math and technology goals with educational offerings over the summer.

“I have the opportunity to learn so much more here,” Nadia says. “We get to learn about other countries. That is something we didn’t do in Pakistan.”
