Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden, cancelled campaign stops Sunday in Huntersville and elsewhere in North Carolina, citing the need for law enforcement to focus on responding to Hurricane Sandy.
Biden was expected to appear with Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, her stepson and the vice president’s son, Sunday afternoon at the Obama field office in Huntersville.
“This change in schedule is being taken out of an abundance of caution to ensure that all local law enforcement and emergency management resources can stay focused on ensuring the safety of people who might be impacted by the storm,” said an email from Obama for America NC.
