A portion of Selwyn Avenue in south Charlotte is closed Friday morning because of a water main break.

The break happened in the 2500 block of Selwyn, between Sterling Road and Ridgewood Avenue, according to city officials. They have not given a timetable yet on when repairs will be completed.

Traffic is being detoured on Sterling Road, Croydon Road, and Ridgewood Avenue, back to Selwyn. Detour signs have been posted.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities officials say updated will be posted online here.
