Jill Biden stopped in Huntersville Friday afternoon, the first in a trifecta of big-name Democrats visiting North Carolina in the waning days of the campaign.
Biden, wife of the vice president, was also scheduled to stop in Asheville on Friday.
Former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to visit the Triangle on Sunday. First Lady Michelle Obama comes to Charlotte on Monday.
Recent polls have shown President Obama and Republican Mitt Romney locked in a tight race in North Carolina. The state has 15 electoral votes and is considered one of eleven battleground states where Tuesday’s election will be decided.
So far, no big-name Republican surrogates have been scheduled in the area for the campaign’s final days. Jim Morrill
