One lane of Matthews Township Parkway in Matthews will be closed this week for a construction project, the N.C. Department of Transportation says.

The DOT says the right lane of southbound N.C. 51 (Matthews Township Parkway) will be closed in front of the state credit union office, near the Harris Teeter store, from 9 a.m. Monday until about 3 p.m. Friday.

Crews are installing a catch basin on the road.
