Suspects sought in 5 Charlotte robberies

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say detectives are looking for two men wanted in connection with a series of robberies Monday night that happened near the victims’ homes. Some of the victims were robbed in their driveways, according to police.

There are no reports of injuries in the cases.

Police released video of one robbery, showing the two men approaching a car and threatening the two occupants at gunpoint. That robbery appeared to happen in a driveway.

A police spokesman said the robberies were scattered around the northeast part of Charlotte. Three were in the University Division and two in the Hickory Grove Division area.

Police say the first suspect is a black male, 20 to 25 years old, about 5 feet 10 to 6 feet 4 tall, of medium to heavy build. He was wearing a dark-colored hoodie.

The second suspect, police say, is a white or Latino male, about 20 to 25 years old, from 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 10 inches tall. That man was thin and also was wearing a dark-colored hoodie.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $5,000 reward to information in the case. That information can be called in to 911, or left with Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
