No injuries were reported overnight in a tractor-trailer crash on the ramp from southbound Interstate 85 to the outer loop of Interstate 485 in western Mecklenburg County.
The crash closed the ramp for several hours overnight, and the ramp was closed again for nearly two hours during the Thursday morning commute.
The N.C. Highway Patrol says the driver reported his truck overturned about 1:45 a.m. when the vehicle’s load shifted on the ramp. That ramp is used by many motorists to get from southbound I-85 to Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
The ramp was closed for more than two hours overnight, while crews cleared debris off the travel lanes. The ramp was closed again about 7 a.m., so a tow truck could pull the truck upright and move it away. That was completed shortly before 9 a.m.
