Authorities are looking for two men who escaped after a police pursuit late Wednesday night in Charlotte.
One person was taken into custody, however, the N.C. Highway Patrol reports.
The series of events began about 9:45 p.m., when a Highway Patrol trooper tried to pull over a Dodge Charger on Interstate 77 for a traffic violation. The driver of the Dodge refused to stop, troopers say, and that started the pursuit.
During the pursuit, troopers say, they learned that the car had been reported stolen. The driver of the Dodge got off I-77 at the Trade Street interchange and eventually got on Bruns Avenue in west Charlotte.
The pursuit ended when the Dodge reached the dead-end of Bruns Avenue and pulled into the parking lot of Bruns Avenue Academy, a public school. Troopers say the car’s three occupants ran, but one person was caught. The other two occupants managed to avoid a police manhunt.
Authorities have not released a description of the men.
