A section of Interstate 77 in Cornelius was closed for several hours overnight after a two-vehicle collision, the N.C. Highway Patrol says.
The wreck was reported about 11:15 p.m. on southbound I-77 near mile marker 30. Troopers say a car and a tractor-trailer collided. The wreck left a fuel spill from the truck, and it took several hours to clear the mess.
Both southbound lanes were closed until about 1 a.m., when crews were able to open one lane.
The other lane was reopened about 5 a.m. No serious injuries were reported.
