Charlotte fire officials say all lanes of East Independence Boulevard are open Friday morning, after a natural gas leak was reported in the area earlier.
The leak was reported about 9:15 a.m. in the 7400 block of Independence Boulevard. That is in front of the Independence Square Shopping Center and not far from Village Lake Drive.
Authorities say the HazMat team quickly controlled the situation.
