60 cited at DWI checkpoint over weekend

Police from three agencies wrote 60 tickets during a DWI checkpoint this weekend on Nations Ford Road.

Ten people were charged with driving while impaired during the checkpoint, which went from 11 p.m. Saturday until 3 a.m. Sunday.

Police also charged 15 people with driving while license revoked, two people for possession of drugs, and two people for carrying a concealed weapon.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, UNC-Charlotte Police and Pineville Police participated in the operation, which utilized the state’s Breath Alcohol Testing bus.
