A Mecklenburg County tennis instructor pleaded guilty on Tuesday to sexaully assaulting female students in his sports program.

Jeremy Princell pleaded guilty to one count of taking indecent liberties with a child and two counts of sexual battery. Judge Yvonne Mims Evans sentenced him to 15 to 18 months in prison, followed by three years of probation. When Princell is released, he will be required to register as a sex offender for 30 years, according to the Mecklenburg District Attorney’s Office.

According to NBC Charlotte, the Observer’s news partner, police said Princell, who runs Princell Tennis, had inappropriate physical contact with students.

Police said the two incidents happened separately during the last two years in Davidson, although Davidson police haven’t said where.
