Birds stolen from Parrot University

Two birds are missing from Parrot University.

According to employees, about 6 p.m. Tuesday, a man and a woman in their mid to late 20s grabbed an umbrella cockatoo and a Moluccan cockatoo and ran out the door.

The store is at 321 South Polk Street in Pineville.

Parrot University owner Karen Cheek Justice says she’s especially concerned because of the cold temperatures and the special needs of the rescue birds. She is offering a reward for the safe return of each bird.

Pineville police are investigating the theft. If you have any information about the stolen birds, you are asked to call the Pineville Police Department at  704-889-2231.
