Rain is soaking much of the Charlotte region Thursday morning, though the showers should move out of the area by lunchtime.
The National Weather Service said between a quarter- and a half-inch of rain could fall Thursday as an upper level disturbance moves across the Carolinas.
But the rain will start to taper off by mid-morning with dry, but cool conditions staying in the region for a few days.
Thursday’s high is only expected to reach 47 degrees, which is about 15 below the normal high for this time of year.
But temperatures will rebound some on Friday, with a forecast high of 59 degrees and sunny skies.
