What a whirlwind of a week!

I completely spaced on writing this week's blog; it's been one of those weeks. I'm finishing up with pre-clinicals for my education degree and while I'm technically almost finished with the semester, the amount of projects, tests, and papers I have to complete are nowhere close to an end!

It's madness I tell you!

One of the highlights of the past two weeks? I got my engagements pictures done! It was amazing :) For the past few years, I've seen a number of my friends become engaged and get their pictures taken; I saw how absolutely gorgeous everyone looked and have dreamed about how the experience would be for me and my man.

Ever since Jason and I became engaged though, I have dreaded the engagement pictures. I kept having nightmares that the pictures would come out and people would see them and say, "Who's that cow beside Jason?". I found myself stressing out over these pictures, postponing them until the very last possible moment, and changing the subject every time my mom brought up the topic. I could kick myself for postponing it so long because when we went, almost all of the leaves were off the trees.

But, it went great!

Jason and I had our pictures done at Crowder's Mountain with our photographer Brian Treffeisen. Brian made the entire experience fun, comfortable, and natural. He asked us what we wanted out of the pictures and I told him that I wanted the pictures to be natural, to capture the real us. I didn't want Jason and me to look cheesy or posed but rather to laugh and smile because we were genuinely happy and glad to be together. Throughout the entire session, Brian was cracking us up with jokes and made us feel so comfortable; it was like a friend was taking our pictures. If you're still looking for a photographer, please do yourself a favor and check this guy out!

My tips for pictures?

• Wear something comfortable, pretty, and with no bold, over the top prints

• Bring multiple outfits! (we need options, right?)

• Act like yourselves! Jason and I are goofy people and that showed in our pictures :)

I'll post a few of the pictures next week :)

Here's Brian's website if you want to check him out!
