Charlotte Christian upper school students Chad Damon, Scott Ortlip, Lynn Putnam, Alex Watkins and Sydney Weaver were invited by the American High School Performance Series to perform at Carnegie Hall in February. The series showcases high school performers on an international level by allowing them to study under master conductors and perform in Carnegie Hall.
Chad, a sophomore, and Lynn, a senior, were selected for the Honors Performance Choir. Scott, a senior who plays trombone; Alex, a sophomore who plays percussion; and Sydney, a sophomore on clarinet, were selected for the Honors Performance Band.
The five were nominated by Charlotte Christian music directors and submitted audition recordings.
