Wade Witherspoon of Rock Hill is the winner of The Herald’s Halloween Celebrity photo contest.
Witherspoon, 57, is a local musician and singer and works at the Rock Hill School District’s Phoenix Academy as assistant to the director.
Witherspoon, whose favorite song is “One in a Million” by Larry Graham, channeled his luck and correctly identified 11 local celebrities wearing goulish disguises.
Happy to win, but not surprised, he said, “I always think I'm going to win, anytime I enter anything. I wish it would work when I play the lottery, but it doesn't seem to work that way,” he said with a chuckle.
The celebrities were Marc Sosne, Clover School District superintendent, Big Stuff, Winthrop University mascot, Rob Youngblood, President York County Regional Chamber of Commerce, James Blake, Northwestern High School Principal, Doug Echols, Rock Hill mayor, Bobby Plair Jr., musician, Lynn Moody, Rock Hill School District superintendent, Eddie Lee, York mayor, Martin Dickey, Nations Ford High School band director, Debra Heintz, Arts Council of York County executive director, and Anthony DiGiorgio, Winthrop University president.
