Grizzlies - Bobcats Observations 11.17.12

• New Charlotte Bobcat Hakim Warrick entered the game with about four minutes left in the third quarter and he did just what he said he would Friday – get to the foul line. Warrick took six free throws in his first three minutes with Charlotte. Unfortunately, he made only three. But that’s the post-up style the Bobcats hope to get from Warrick.

• DeAngelo Williams might be a Carolina Panther, but he’s also a Memphis guy. At the outset of Saturday’s game, Williams went on Twitter, offering to do a one-armed pushup for every point the Bobcats beat the Grizzlies by. Clearly, he didn’t see that happening.

• Rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist’s aggressiveness is impressive, but he needs to temper that to avoid foul trouble. Kidd-Gilchrist committed four fouls in his first 12 minutes Saturday.

• One of coach Mike Dunlap’s favorite buzz words is “deflections” – he loves it when his players get a hand on opposing passes. Obviously point guard Kemba Walker got the point: His 2.86 steals per game was second in the NBA, behind only Milwaukee’s Brandon Jennings.
