HICKORY -- One person was hospitalized after being shot early Tuesday morning in Hickory, police say.

The shooting was reported about 3:30 a.m. on 19th Street N.E., according to police. They say one victim was taken to Frye Regional Medical Center, but the severity of the injuries is not known.

Police say they are looking for a person in connection with the shooting.
