Charlotte Country Day School won this year’s Academic WorldQuest competition Nov. 13 at the Westin Charlotte hotel, topping more than 20 high schools in Mecklenburg, Union, York, Iredell and Gaston counties.
Team members included Matthew Harden, Lauren McFayden, Joe Troutman, Frank Kosarek, Graham Mazeine, Manu Amin, Nathan Brenner and Trent Steelman.
About 200 students participated in the global knowledge trivia competition and demonstrated their knowledge of current events, world history, geography, world elections, international culture and other categories. Providence Day School finished second, East Mecklenburg High third.
