RICHBURG, S.C. Haddon House Food Products, an exporter, importer and distributor of food products, is increasing its Richburg facility with a $3.1 million investment expected to generate 100 new jobs.
We are pleased to take the next big step for our company and move forward with plans to greatly expand our Chester County facility, said Bob Blake, facility manager for Haddon House food products.
Haddon House will expand its facility at the L and C Industrial Park, about 40 miles south of Charlotte. The expansion will allow the company to increase its distribution operations. The company has more than 250 employees.
The expansion is expected to be complete by 2017.
The Richburg distribution center has about 750,000 square feet of dry grocery, refrigerated and frozen warehouse space.
Since January 2011, South Carolina has recruited more than $322 million in capital investment and more than 2,800 jobs in the distribution and logistics sector.
The company expects to begin hiring for the new positions in fall 2013.
Unemployment in Chester County is 12.7 percent. Last year at this time it was 15.3 percent. The Associated Press contributed.
