Local grant recipient

The Davidson Housing Coalition has received a $10,000 grant from The Bank of America Charitable Foundation to support its homebuyer education and financial literacy programs. Founded in 1996 to provide affordable housing in Davidson for low-income families, the organization’s mission has broadened to help clients become fiscally independent and obtain housing.

This year 22 clients have taken the coalition’s eight-hour homebuyer education course. Twelve have closed on a house and 10 more expect to close on a home. The coalition’s services are available to Davidson residents and others who live elsewhere. Details: www.davidsonhousing.org.
