An-all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast with Santa will be held at Troutman Elementary Dec. 1. Proceeds will benefit local community school-age children in need.

This is the fourth annual “Breakfast with Santa” event organized by The Rotary Club of Troutman. They anticipate more than 600 people this year.

Breakfast includes pancakes, bacon, sausage and eggs. However, the big attraction will be Santa, who will be available for photos with children. For the adults, there will be a silent auction with items such as vacation accommodations.

During the past three years, The Rotary Club of Troutman has raised $23,992 to help families in need with Christmas gifts and other things for the holiday season. Their goal this year is to raise $9,000 and assist at least 100 local children. There will also be boxes available for donations of toys and food at the event.

“This is our club’s major project. We are involved in local community events throughout the year. We also work with other area Rotary Clubs to host the Annual Great Chili Cook-off and Oyster Roast,” said Public Relations Chairwoman Paula Curry.

The Rotary Club of Troutman was started in October 2008 and became an officially chartered club in 2009. It is led by club president Linda DiTrolio. When the club started, members chose to focus both local and international efforts on helping children.
