GASTONIA -- Police in Gastonia are asking the public’s help in finding a man who robbed a Walgreens store Friday night at gunpoint.

The robbery happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. at the store in the 2500 block of East Franklin Boulevard, police say. Investigators say the man went into the pharmacy area and jumped the counter, carrying a small silver-colored revolver.

No injuries were reported. Police say the man stole several controlled substances.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 5 feet 6 and 6 feet tall, weighing 150 to 175 pounds. He was wearing what appeared to be a grey pullover jacket, khaki pants, and a white-and-gray ball cap.

Anyone with information is asked to call police Detective Mike Butts, 704-854-6647, or leave information with Crime Stoppers, 704-861-8000.
