Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are looking for a shooter or shooters who fired nearly a dozen shots into two west Charlotte homes late Monday.
Investigators say it appears the shootings were related to another incident earlier Monday just a block away. One person was injured in each shooting case.
Rob Tufano, a spokesman for CMPD, said the shootings stemmed from an ongoing dispute between people who know one another.
“They are not random,” he said, adding that the homes were targeted as a result of the dispute.
The late-night shootings happened about 11 p.m. on Blessing Street, police say. That is off Wilkinson Boulevard, near the Westerly Hills community. Police say someone fired a number of shots into the two homes. One woman suffered a minor gunshot wound but did not need hospitalization.
Earlier Monday, about 3:45 p.m., there was a shooting nearby, at the corner of Bost Street and Deherradora Avenue. In that incident, a man was taken by Medic to Carolinas Medical Center with a gunshot wound described as not life-threatening.
Police ask that anyone with information in the two cases contact Crime Stoppers, 704-334-1600.
“Investigators are working on solid leads in the cases,” Tufano said.
