Two teen-agers have been charged with trying to break into a house near southeast Charlottes Cotswold community early Saturday, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
It happened about 12:30 a.m., according to police. They say a homeowner called and said he saw two people trying to break into his home through a rear window, in the 800 block of Queen Charlottes Court. That is off Sharon Amity Road, not far from Randolph Middle School.
When police arrived, they saw two men, matching the description from the homeowner, running from behind the home and headed down the street. Officers set up a perimeter and saw two men nearby on Water Oak Drive.
A witness was taken to the scene and identified the men as those involved in the attempted robbery.
Charged with attempted first-degree burglary and resisting a public officer were Antonis Bernard Screthen, 18, and Zachary Deyshaun Spann, 17.
