NASCAR Hall registrar joins Mint

Michele Leopold, who was instrumental in setting up exhibits for the NASCAR Hall of Fame and who formerly worked for United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, will join Charlotte’s Mint Museum as chief registrar.

In her new role, she will help oversee collections and exhibitions in the state’s oldest art museum. Leopold replaces Martha Mayberry, who retired in May after 36 years at the Mint.

Leopold has worked at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Fla., and supervised a fine art team at the Huntington T. Block Insurance Agency in Washington. She joined the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2009 and helped supervise installation of exhibits and artifacts.
