MOORESVILLE -- Police in Mooresville announced Wednesday evening that they had made an arrest in the death of a Mooresville High School student earlier this month.

Police said Naquan Jermaine McGill, 20, was charged with murder and armed robbery, in connection with the Nov. 16 death of 17-year-old Markell Terrice Norris. An autopsy concluded that Norris had died of a gunshot wound.

Norris’ body was discovered at his home, in the 300 block of Bell Street, on the morning of Nov. 16 by a friend who had tried wakening the teen to go to school.

Police did not disclose any additional details about the death or what led to the arrest.
