Mike Wiley

A York real estate agent remains in jail early Thursday after authorities say they intercepted a package holding 92 pounds of marijuana that was being shipped to his S.C. home.

Mike Wiley, 56, had been wanted by authorities in California on multiple charges, including possession of marijuana and three counts of possession of an assault weapon. Authorities say the drug shipment originated in California, where Wiley also has a home.

Investigators say six packages of similar weight had previously been shipped to Wiley’s home in York this year. Authorities searching his residence found a small amount of marijuana in shipping crates similar to package that was intercepted in California, according to a report from the York County Sheriff’s Office and the Multijurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit.

Wiley is being held in the York County jail after he was arrested Wednesday and charged as a fugitive from justice.

A SLED background check shows Wiley had been arrested and convicted of driving under the influence in 1983 in York County.
