Lincoln to collect unwanted medicines

LINCOLNTON -- The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a drop-off program Saturday for unwanted medicines.

The program will be from 9 a.m.-noon at the Charlie District Sheriff’s Office. That is at 700 John Howel Memorial Drive, off Wilma Sigmon Road, west of U.S. 321.

Items that can be dropped off include: all over-the-counter medications; vitamins and supplements; prescription medication; liquid medications in leak-proof containers; syringes; and any medicated ointments and creams. People are asked not to bring aerosol cans or used needles.

No questions will be asked when items are dropped off, the sheriff’s office says.
