Students Kristin Moss, JaBraelan Redfearn, Zach Bernard, Maurice Evans and Janae Thomas were selected to capture photos, create costumes and apply stage makeup for the Charlotte youth production of "Black Nativity," by Langston Hughes.
The production, which featured an all-youth cast, youth dance ensemble and the Porch Youth Ensemble, took place last weekend in McGlohon Theater.
Kristin, 17 and a senior at Mallard Creek High, was assigned to provide photography and makeup services. JaBraelan, 15 and a freshman at Cox Mill High, is participating for a second year as assistant stage manager, with responsibilities that included inventory of props and wardrobe, as well as prop placement. Zach, 15 and a freshman at Cox Mill High, and Maurice, 12 and a seventh-grader at Piedmont Open IB Middle, were chosen as assistants; Janae, 13 and an eighth-grader at Mountain Island Charter School, was selected to assist with wardrobe.
