Third-graders at Saint Patrick Catholic School in Charlotte enjoyed a large harvest of sweet potatoes, enough to feed their entire grade and help the hungry.

Students planted sweet potato slips in their school vegetable garden in the spring, resulting in their eating sweet potato pancakes in the school cafeteria. They donated 42 extra sweet potatoes to the Dilworth Soup Kitchen.
