Matchup to Watch
Kemba Walker vs. Jrue Holiday: Theyre basically the same guy: Super-quick stop-and-start point guards who can manipulate offenses with the nifty ballhandling.
Observations.
• Center Andrew Bynum might never play for the Sixers this season, which makes you wonder if hell ever play for the Sixers.
• Sixers coach Doug Collins always had a gift for diagnosing problems. The difference now is he understands how to send a message to his players without being so harsh that he loses his audience.
• The Bobcats have actually dominated the Sixers in Charlotte, winning 10 of 14 meetings here, despite Philadelphia winning both games last season in Time Warner Cable Arena.
Tap-ins
• The Sixers gave up Andre Iguodala to make the deal for Bynum. Iguodala might have been overpaid, but he offered a defensive toughness and a teamwork agenda that contending teams need.
• The Sixers have averaged 20-plus 3s seven times this season after doing so three times all last season.
Did you know?
This is the Sixers 50th anniversary in the NBA.. Way-back-when, they were the Syracuse Nationals.
