58 citations at CMPD seat-belt checkpoint

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say they wrote 29 citations during a two-hour period Thursday night for drivers who allegedly were not wearing seat belts.

The seat-belt checkpoint took place from 9-11 p.m. on The Plaza at Milton Road. In all, 58 citations and other charges were filed. They were:

Seat-belt violations: 29

Child seat violations: 1

No operators license: 7

Driving with revoked license: 4

No proof of insurance: 2

Expired tags: 6

Unsafe movement: 1

Possession of marijuana: 1

Open container law: 1

Other violations: 6
