TAYLORSVILLE -- Authorities in Alexander County say they have arrested a man accused of breaking into a large number of vehicles recently in the western part of the county.

Austin Conway, 21, of Granite Falls, was arrested this week and charged with 18 counts of breaking and entering into a vehicle; one felony count of larceny; and seven misdemeanor counts of larceny.

The sheriff’s office says most of the break-ins happened in the Bethlehem community, near the Caldwell County line.

Investigators say they are still looking into the case and add that additional charges are possible.
