Anna, 28, and Chad, 32, had both tried online dating without much luck. Both were skeptical of finding love via the Internet, but after their first date, they knew it could be something special. The couple married Sept. 15, 2012 and lives in Charlotte. Anna tells their story.
Family approval: From our first date at Brixx pizza, our relationship quickly grew the more time we spent together. Chad asked me to be his girlfriend after two weeks, and I gladly accepted. We’re both extremely close with our families, so we were thankful when we introduced one another to them and there was an instant click on both sides.
Head of class: I’m a fourth-grade teacher and it’s a huge part of my life, so I was thrilled when Chad embraced my class. My students called him “Mr. Chad,” and he became part of our classroom family. They were so excited about the possibility of us getting married, they started telling others around school I was engaged about a month before it actually happened.
On the hunt: Our families got together for Easter and there was an egg hunt for the adult “kids.” Chad’s dad explained the eggs had candy and money in them, and there was one grand prize egg with a special surprise. I was the one to find the big, pink egg and didn’t even notice our family gathered around us with their cameras out. Inside the egg was my engagement ring, and we both cried as Chad got on one knee and proposed.
Wedding bells: After a year-and-a-half engagement, we were married in September and can’t wait to see where our life together takes us. Hilary Trenda
